we can call you pretty, gorgeous, intelligent, sexy, beautiful.. we can easily say it to a girl. But calling a woman - a "wife material" , this is the highest complement we can give to a girl.
You know why? its because as a man, we value our freedom above much much else..  What is the purpose of life, material things, money, power, prestige if you are not free to do what you want?
A man can love you, live with you,  make love with you, have children with you, give all you want, we can love & take care of you, support you in your all fun & cravings..
But he cannot marry you... and give up his freedom ( & richness if there's any)..
UNLESS he calls you- " a wife material"
